WESLACO - In the 16th annual Rio Grande Valley Coaches Association All-Star Game Saturday night, the West upended the East 41-21. The West found the endzone first on a run by Edinburg's Sal Martinez in the first quarter. After an East fumble, the West struck again on a brusing touchdown run by Donna's Eduardo Fraire. La Villa's Ricky Cantu scampered in for another score to give the West a commanding 21-0 advantage. Although the East came alive in the second half, the West had enough points in hand to secure the victory. Proceeds from the all-star game will go towards a scholarship fund for the RGVCA.
