EDINBURG - Strong winds knocked down a tree in Edinburg. The tree clipped power lines and caused a power outage. It happened on Business 281 and Rodgers Road. Edinburg Police Department officials said no injuries were reported.

Edinburg North High School, which is in that area, was one of the places left without electricity. Students were evacuated, after the power outage caused a small fire in an air conditioning unit. We learned the fire caused minor damage, but students won't be allowed back into the school until the power is restored.

Crews are now working to restore electricity.
