BROWNSVILLE - A 38-year-old woman is behind bars in connection with the sexual assault of a child in Brownsville.

The woman, Lorena Moreno, turned herself in to police Thursday. Police said she witnessed the assault but did not report it to authorities.

Officials said Sergio Jefferson, 56, assaulted the 14-year-old victim at his mobile home on the 3300 block of Coffeeport Road. The man allegedly practiced dentistry without a license at the mobile home.

Moreno's bond was set at $200,000.
