Woman in Stable Condition After Shooting

HARLINGEN - An 82-year-old woman remains in stable condition at a Harlingen hospital after her husband shot her in the chest over the weekend.

The shooting happened at approximately 12:50 p.m. Sunday in the 1300 block of Maple Avenue.

Police said Price Robinson Perrin, 87, shot his wife in front of officers. The man then turned the gun on the officers and opened fire. Police returned fire and killed Perrin, officials said.

Investigators are trying to determine why the elderly man shot his wife and opened fire on police.
