After attending Texas Lutheran College and the University of Maryland, Eddie Flores became the sports editor for the college publication at Arizona Western in Yuma, Arizona in 1990. This is where Eddie got his first break in broadcast news. While attending college full time Eddie got an internship at KYMA-TV, the ABC affiliate in Yuma, Arizona and a part-time job as teleprompter operator. The station eventually hired Flores as a weekend sports anchor.
Eddie would return to Texas in 1992 to work at KMID, the ABC affiliate in Midland/Odessa. Next stop was KAVU-TV in Victoria where Eddie met his future wife Sarah. Flores then continued his career as a weekend sports anchor/weekday news reporter at KRIS-TV, NBC in Corpus Christi. In 1999, Flores took a job at KEYE-TV, CBS in Austin but this time would make the switch solely to news. In May 2003, Eddie accepted the position as weekend news anchor/weekday reporter at KRGV-TV, ABC in the Valley.
Eddie enjoys sports of all kinds. He played football for Texas Lutheran and was a member of the All West Pacific Boxing team in the Marine Corps in 1988.
