Kirk Chaisson is an award-winning investigative reporter with 20 years of experience in television news. Originally from Phoenix, Ariz., Kirk's career began in South Texas in 1983 with jobs at KGNS in Laredo and KRIS Corpus Christi. He then took a job with Guam Cable News on the Pacific Island territory of Guam where his stories included the conviction of the governor on federal corruption charges.
Kirk then worked for about a year at WNCT in Greenville, N.C., before taking an investigative reporting job at WAAY in Huntsville, Ala., in 1989, where he stayed for five years and won multiple state and local reporting awards. Kirk returned to Guam to take over as news director and evening anchor for three years before moving to Las Vegas, where he reported for CBS affiliate KLAS.
In 1998, Kirk accepted a position at KTVA in Anchorage, Alaska, where he created, co-produced and served as lead reporter for the statewide newsmagazine program "Inside Alaska." Kirk also worked as a writer at CBS affiliate KHOU in Houston and most recently as a reporter for KIVI-TV in Boise, Idaho.
Kirk is thrilled to be back in South Texas and looks forward to meeting the people of the Valley.
