Dave Brown
Dave Brown serves as a special contributor to CHANNEL 5 sports. He ended a 34-year career at the station in November 2009. His work included 33 years as our Sports Director and primary sports anchor. Dave continues to produce and anchor his popular Tuesday feature "60 Sports Seconds," as well as content for the CHANNEL 5 web site. Dave is a Texan both by birth and education.
He was born in Mineral Wells and educated at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. Dave is a two-time winner of the Texas Association of Broadcasters award for Best Play-by-Play. He also won a 2008 EMMA for his role in producing and anchoring the station's annual high school football show, "Valley Football Preview." The Browns - Dave, his wife, Drue, and son, Jeff - live in Brownsville.
