We're now in Week 12 and the stakes are much higher this time around as Edinburg North and Sharyland are fighting for one playoff spot tonight. Harlingen - 21, SA Southwest - 14

KINGSVILLE - After last year's loss in the 3rd round of the playoffs, Harlingen returned home with a new slogan for this year: Remember the Alamodome. Tonight the Cardinals trying to get back to the third round as they were taking on San Antonio Southwest in Kingsville. 1st quarter. Harlingen gets the ball first and take a look at Pablo Garza, takes it down the sideline, and after that he cuts back down the middle of the field and no one is going to catch him in the rain. Tonight the Big Red Machine is moving on. The Cardinals win 21-14. They'll now play Austin Westlake.

Gregory Portland - 12, Mission - 7

ALICE - In Alice, teams were also battling the elements with a heavy downpour before the game. On Channel 5 News at 6, we told you the biggest key for Mission was stopping Gregory Portland's rushing attack. Early on, the Eagles were doing just that as the defense led by Rudy Lopez put the clamps on the Wildcats. At the half, Gregory Portland had a 6-0 lead. But, Mission went up 7-6 in the 3rd quarter. After that, the Wildcats would answer back in the 4th quarter. That would be the go-ahead score as Gregory Portland holds on for 12-7 win.

Killer Bees - 5, Texas - 2

HIDALGO - Besides Valley high school football teams, the Killer Bees were also looking for a win tonight as they were hosting the Texas Brahmas. We pick things up in the 1st period and on the power play, Jesse Bennefield gets one past the goalie. Killer Bees ahead 1-nothing. Then later, it's RGV on the attack again as Grant Goeckner Zoeller racks up another power play score for the Bees. And tonight the Hive is buzzing. The Killer Bees beat the Brahmas 5-2.

Basketball Broncs Still Winless

CORPUS CHRISTI - In college basketball, the search is continuing tonight. The UTPA men's and women's teams both have new head coaches, but so far this year, neither team has found a win. Tonight, the men's team is taken down 77-55 by Texas A&M Corpus Christi. With the loss, the Broncs are now 0-3 on the season. They're back to action this Sunday at Missouri.
