HIDALGO - After dropping their first two games of the season, the Killer Bees found the win column for the first time this year with a 2-1 win over Corpus Christi.
Rio Grande Valley's Shaun Landolt opened up the scoring in the second period with a power play goal at the 5:19 mark. Topher Scott followed that up in the third period with another tally.
Meanwhile, Killer Bees goalie Andy Franck stopped 40 of 41 shots in net to record the victory.
The Valley's hockey team returns to action next Friday with a home contest against Arizona.
