Doctors Hospital at Renaissance to Host Colorectal Cancer Awareness "Walk with A Doc"

EDINBURG – Doctors Hospital at Renaissance will host a special “Walk with a Doc” dedicated to raising awareness about colorectal cancer and how to get screened. It’s a community event and free to the public.

“Walk with a Doc” will take place on Thursday, March 24 at 5:30 p.m. It is an opportunity to learn more about screening methods and treatment options available for colorectal cancer. The walk will begin at the Urgent Care Center at Renaissance, located at 5519 Doctors Drive in Edinburg, and continue along the 2nd Street Trail. 

It is a two-mile walk, and participants are encouraged to walk at their own pace. Walkers are invited to wear blue in honor of colon cancer awareness month.

“Walk with a Doc” is meant to encourage healthy physical activity in people of all ages and improve overall health in members of the community. Walkers will have the opportunity to ask physicians from Renaissance Gastroenterology questions about colorectal cancer screening, treatment, and prevention tips.
