Posted: Updated:

SAN JUAN – Doctors Hospital at Renaissance and Pharr-San Juan-Alamo ISD have joined in a partnership to provide a new school-based health center. The center will be located in San Juan and will provide more than 32,000 students, faculty and staff with affordable health services. The grand opening and ribbon cutting ceremony was held on Wednesday, April 20.

The center will treat and diagnose minor health conditions. It will also bring learning opportunities for PSJA ISD students pursuing careers in the medical field. The health center is staffed by a team of physicians, nurses, counselors and other healthcare practitioners.

“We are simply honored to be part of a partnership with PSJA to be able to have a clinic that brings health care available to all who need it regardless of their ability to pay,” said Israel Rocha Jr. the DHR Chief Executive Officer. “This clinic means that families who need health care will now have access. It means that students of PSJA will not only be able to learn, but we'll make sure that they're healthy while they follow their educational pursuits."
