Week-Long Preparedness Camp Open to RGV Teens

WESLACO - A week-long youth preparedness camp is open to Rio Grande Valley teenagers between the ages of 14 and 18. Lt. Rich Stubbs of the Weslaco Fire Department spoke about it on "Inside the Valley."

He said he participated in a similar program when he was 14 and wants to give other youth the same opportunity. The camp is made up of three components: community emergency response team training, community specific action planning and leadership development. Topics covered will include fire safety, disaster psychology and search and rescue.
