PSJA student to be part of Meet & Greet at local Hollywood Film Premier

PHARR - Manelly Zepeda, a 10-year old student at PSJA ISD's Sorensen Elementary, recently returned from the Hollywood premier of her big screen debut in the Lionsgate Studios feature film, “How to be a Latin Lover," starring Eugenio Derbez, Salma Hayek and Rob Lowe.

Manelly was selected during local auditions held by casting director Juan Cantu, a 1995 graduate of PSJA North High School. Cantu has been casting movies in Los Angeles for years now. His films include “Spy Kids,” “Spare Parts,” “Bullet to the Head” and “Machete.”

Manelly is a straight-A student and part of the PSJA Dual Language Enrichment Program. Her parents, Mayra and Francisco Zepeda, both PSJA ISD staff members, credit the PSJA Dual Language Enrichment Program for her ability to speak English and Spanish fluently, one of the major talents the production company sought in candidates.

Since this opportunity, Manelly has been busy doing different castings and will be part of the following movies:

Spiderman Homecoming – Summer 2017

Sin Derecho a Fianza – Post-Production

The Ball- Short Film – Austin Film Festival

El Sueño Americano –  Filmed March 2017 in San Antonio

La Vida De un Trailero –  Films in May 2017

The Game of Thrones – The Red Viper of Dorne, as Loreza Sand – Films Summer 2017 in Austin
