The Annual Southern Exposures Youth Nature Photo contest will be ending on July 31st. This contest is a great opportunity for the youth of the Rio Grande Valley, ages 8-18, to take and enter their favorite nature shots. There will be cash prizes, an awards ceremony, and complimentary t-shirts for all participants.There will be an awards ceremony on August 31st at Quinta Mazatlan. It is National Photography Month which means it is the perfect time to take some award-winning photographs!
Quinta Mazatlan and the Valley Land Fund, sponsors of the contest, are encouraging the youth of the Valley to get outdoors this summer and take some prize winning photos to enter into the contest. To help take prize winning photos, Quinta Mazatlan is offering five nature photography workshops taught by renowned wildlife photographer Ruth Hoyt. You can participate for only $5.00 a class on Saturdays in June and July to help youth prepare for the contest. Fun Photography Friday will also be offered every Friday 10:00 a.m. until NOON. Cameras will be available for participants to use during these workshops.
