Lacks Unites with Community for Hurricane Harvey Relief

Posted: Updated:

Lacks Furniture has set up donation stations at all three of their Galleria stores in McAllen, Brownsville and Laredo to collect non-perishable food, water and supplies for families affected by Hurricane Harvey.

Lacks is currently supporting the drive by spreading the word and reaching out to the community. Lacks employees have already started contributing to the cause by bringing in supplies such as baby food, toiletries, and much more. “Thousands of our friends and family have been affected by hurricane Harvey, this is the time to come together as a community to help one another,” said General Manager David Estes.

Since August 29, the furniture retailer has been collecting supplies and food from the community to assist as a channel of distribution. All donations will be transported to Victoria and other surrounding areas of the coastal bend. These goods will then be distributed on behalf of the South Texas community to local food banks and organizations assisting families in need.

The state of Texas has taken a tremendous hit with Hurricane Harvey and Lacks has not been immune to its impact. This devastation has affected Lacks employees in Victoria and destroyed the new store that opened in May 2017. This triggered an emotional response in Lacks and the company sends its thoughts and prayers to everyone affected.
