Below is a list of available resources to veterans and their families including career help, housing and even memorial costs. 

Career

Career One Stop - A service for transitioning service members looking for employment, training or financial assistance.

National Veterans Foundation Job Board - A list of available job openings. 

US Department of Labor - Veterans - The department offers the tools for veterans to seek out a career.

US Small Business Administration - Veterans - The department offers support for veterans who are looking to own their own business.

Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment (VR&E) - The program gives an opportunity for veterans and service members to get personalized counseling and support to help guide their career paths.

Workforce Solutions - The organization helps Valley residents seek out careers and jobs.

Education

College Credit for Heroes - College Credit For Heroes is a partnership between the Texas Workforce Commission and the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board to ensure active duty, former and retired military personnel receive the credit they earned for their service to our country.

UTRGV Veterans Upward Bound - The University of Texas at Rio Grande Valley has been funded with a federal grant from Department of Education to help prepare eligible Cameron County veterans to access and pursue a program of higher education for free.

Health

Hearing Center of Excellence - Military hearing loss is on the rise. The center assists veterans in finding the resources needed to help with hearing loss.

Texas Community Attendant Services (CAS) - The program is designed for Texas residents who are functionally unable to manage their activities of daily living.

VA Caregivers Support - The program offers training for caregivers and the tools they needed.

VA Clinic - Find a local VA clinic or hospital.

PTSD: National Center for PTSD - Find out about the symptoms of PTSD and how they develop.

Housing

Home Loans (VA Department) - VA helps service members, veterans and eligible surviving spouses become homeowners. 

HUD-Veterans Affairs Supportive Housing - The program combines Housing Choice Voucher (HCV) rental assistance for homeless veterans with case management and clinical services provided by the VA. 

National Coalitions for Homeless Veterans - The non-profit organization offers assistance for housing, job training and other services to veterans.

Operation Reveille - A program for veterans to put an end to homelessness.

Supportive Services for Veteran Families - The program works to end homelessness among veterans. 

Memorials

Burials and Memorials (VA  Department) - The department gives the necessary tools for veterans to be laid to rest.
