BROWNSVILLE - Brownsville Veterans set up an early season showdown in 32-5A for next week by winning the final game of the week five slate.  The Chargers defeated Pace 27-14 in the district opener in Brownsville on Saturday 27-14.  Veterans travels to Mercedes next Friday.  The winning team will improve to 2-0 in the league, and have a leg up among district contenders for the championship.  CHANNEL 5's Brandon Ortega has highlights of the Saturday night contest.
