Mission Man Sentenced to Prison for Cocaine

MCALLEN – A Mission man will be spending the next 10 years in prison for transporting cocaine in 2016.

Twenty-five-year-old Mario Alberto Garrido pleaded guilty to possession with the intent to distribute cocaine.

Authorities stopped Garrido for a traffic violation in Mission.

A K9 officer alerted the officer of the presence of narcotics, which led them to discover drugs hidden in a compartment in the vehicle.

He will remain in custody pending transfer to a prison facility.
