First & Goal Thursday: October 12th

BROWNSVILLE - Five games took the spotlight on First & Goal Thursday as week seven in Valley football got underway.  A pair of games have now shaped the district race in 32-5A.  Lopez and Brownsville Veterans both won to advance to 3-0 and co-leaders in district.  Lopez is one of six Valley unbeatens for the season.  The Lobos now stand with six wins after a road victory at Donna 21-7.  Veterans rallied after spotting Edcouch-Elsa a 10-0 advantage.  The Chargers won 21-19.  The two Brownsville schools are scheduled to meet one week from Saturday, on October 21st, for the undisputed district lead.
