Valley Native, Charlie Clark, Green Ghost Goes Green to Help Save the PlanetPosted: Updated:
Charlie Clark purchased one of the largest conservations in the world. Charlie's preservation, located in Chile, will help preserve mother Earth and educate world leaders on creating a "greener" planet to try and reduce global warming.
With strong beliefs towards going "green," Douglas Tompkins, co-founder of North Face Clothing and Gear, and his wife Kristine both agreed to sell the conservation.
Over the past 50 years, the average global temperature has increased at the fastest rate in recorded history. Experts see the trend is accelerating and all but one of the 16 hottest years in NASA’s 134-year record have occurred since 2000.
Scientists say that unless we curb global-warming emissions, average U.S. temperatures could increase by up to 10 degrees Fahrenheit over the next century. Currently temperatures locally are ranging from 90-105 in the summer months. In the next ten years, the RGV will see a drastic increase in temperature that could kill our agriculture, wildlife and destroy our regional ecosystem.
Charlie Clark is on a mission to educate the Valley and for that matter the world on this global issue. He plans to assist in getting world leaders to start making some changes. The super-hero Charlie created, "The Green Ghost" is now on a mission to save the world and help make our world "greener."
Charlie Clark, Valley native wants to educate local leaders as well and offer tours to people from the Valley to show them how to live off of sustainable resources that have a net zero impact on the Earth.
