SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – The cold temperatures are impacting New Year’s festivities on South Padre Island.

The city posted online that popular New Year’s Eve firework shows have been either rescheduled or canceled.

The New Year’s Eve show at Louie’s Backyard has been canceled for Friday and scheduled for Saturday at 8 p.m, weather permitting.

The city says Clayton’s Beach Bar and Grill also canceled fireworks in anticipation of the frigid conditions.

In McAllen, police say the McAllen Ball Drop was cancelled due to bad weather.
