Vaqueros Split WAC Openers

EDINBURG - The opening of WAC basketball play for both the women and the men of UTRGV came on Saturday.  Both units faced teams from UMKC.  The women were at home at the Field House in Edinburg, and led for nearly the entire game.  A late basket gave the visitors the win 54-52.  The men, playing in Kansas City, fared better.  Nick Dixon scored 24 points to pace the men to a 71-62 victory.  CHANNEL 5's Brandon Ortega explains in this report.
