3 Arrested after Tip Leads Authorities to Drugs, Vehicles, Gun in Brownsville House

BROWNSVILLE – An anonymous tip led Cameron County Sheriff’s deputies to a home where they found drugs, vehicles and a gold-plated gun.

Cameron County Sheriff Omar Lucio tells CHANNEL 5 NEWS the tip came from concerned citizens at the Brownsville Country Club.

Deputies conducted surveillance at the home, which led them to a traffic stop of one of the residents.

Lucio says after a voluntary search of the vehicle and the home, deputies found 74 pounds of marijuana and six grams of cocaine. He says they also seized two vehicles.

“If people see any activity in the neighborhood – we can’t be everywhere although we wish we could – but they can be the eyes of law enforcement,” he says. “We’ll go set up surveillance and find out what’s going on. See if there’s contraband or we catch anybody, and we’ll take the proper actions.”

Priscilla Esquivel Coronado, Jaime Genaro Melendez and Arvin Ramirez Rodriguez are all facing four federal counts for possession of drugs and intent to distribute.

The Department of Homeland Security assisted the sheriff’s department in the investigation.
