Raúl Oscar Gómez

Raúl Oscar Gómez was born in Torreon, Coahuila, Mexico.

His studies and superior schooling were completed in Torreon. He went to the Universidad Autonoma de Coahuila.

Raul did sports play-by-play for several different sports discipline.

He was the official voice for the Houston Astros Baseball play-by-play in the Astrodome from 1983-84.

Raul was also Radio El Paso’s News Director and Univision El Paso’s News Briefs Anchor.

His history includes a stint as a news anchor in Houston at Channel 45 and the Spanish voice play-by-play for the Vipers and Edinburg Coyotes Baseball Team. 

Right now, Raul is part of this enormous project in Spanish for Channel 5.2 Somos el Valle anchoring Noticias a las Nueve. You can see him Monday through Friday 9 pm to 10 pm.

He’s married to Martha Valdez and has 3 children - Adriana, Raul Jr., and Alan.
