McAllen Man Sentenced to 70 Months in Prison for Downloading Child Pornography

Posted: Updated:

MCALLEN – A McAllen man will spend over five years in federal prison for receiving child pornography.

Rodrigo Garcia-Fuentes pleaded guilty last June.

In 2016, an Immigration and Customs Enforcement special agent located his computer after Garcia-Fuentes offered to participate in the receipt of an explicit video.

Agents executed a search warrant at his McAllen home and recovered a computer.

Inside the computer, law enforcement found over 600 videos and 600 images of pornography, some involving children under the age of 12.

Prosecutors say Garcia-Fuentes admitted to downloading the content from the internet and viewing it for the last four years.

He remains in custody pending transfer to a federal prison.

Garcia-Fuentes will have to register as a sex offender for life.
