State Soccer Journeys Continue

SAN ANTONIO - Friday began with eight Valley soccer teams fighting to stay alive for regional final matches on Saturday.  Local squads played in San Antonio, Corpus Christi and McAllen with eyes on the prize of a possible trip to a collection of state tournaments.  McAllen will seek to become the first school to ever qualify from the Valley for a girls Final Four.  Boys from Valley View and Brownsville Vets meet head on with the winner headed for a 5A state berth.  Progreso has Final Four experience, and will rely on that pedigree to gain a return trip.  CHANNEL 5's Joel Villanueva has the rundown on all of the Friday competition "On the Pitch."
