On the Way to Georgetown

SAN ANTONIO - A three-peater, the undefeated, and a Valley record setter will all be making the trip to the UIL Soccer Final Four this week.  McAllen made history on Saturday by becoming the first Valley girls school to ever earn a soccer trip to state after a 6A Regional Championship win in San Antonio.  Valley View remained undefeated for the season after eliminating Brownsville Veterans 3-1 in Corpus Christi.  The Tigers will play in the 5A event.  Progreso earned a third consecutive trip to state after a 1-0 win in McAllen for the 4A Regional crown.  State semi-final opponents for the local schools will be announced on Sunday.  CHANNEL 5's Joel Villanueva has highlights from all three showdown matches.
