Officials say Warehouse Blaze May Have Been Deliberately Lit

UPDATE (5/4): Officials confirm an abandoned warehouse in Weslaco was deliberately set on fire. 

Weslaco Fire Chief Antonio Lopez explains investigators are still looking into how the blaze ignited. 

We're told it's still an active investigation.

WESLACO – Authorities in Weslaco are investigating a potential arson case.

Fire crews were called to an abandoned warehouse along eastbound Frontage Road near Westgate Road around 8:30 a.m. Friday.

When firefighters arrived at the scene, they saw wooden crates and trash on fire.

Investigators tell us the building doesn’t have electricity.
