PSJA North High School's 1st Service Dog Creates Awareness

PHARR – A Rio Grande Valley high school student is helping to bring awareness to others with her service dog.

Daniela Olivarez, a junior at PSJA North High School, has cerebral palsy. To overcome a surgery from last August, with the help of her family, she found Remington.

For six months, the pup underwent training at the RGV K-9 Training Centre in Edinburg.

“Getting Remi into her life has just opened a new world. It has brought awareness as well, not only to her family but to our teaching staff and to the students in our campus,” said the principal of the school, Liza Diaz.
