Attorney Says Patients Protected in Case of Medical Malpractice

Posted: Updated:

MCALLEN – An attorney says patients have a right when it comes to medical malpractice.

This comes after a Rio Grande Valley doctor was arraigned Monday on healthcare fraud charges.

According to the indictment, Dr. Jorge Zamora-Quezada would “conceal patient records from other rheumatologists” who requested them.

The attorney says all patients have to do is request and pay for medical records. Doctors have 30 days to comply with a request and 45 days before an attorney gets involved.
