TSC Announces Launch of Industrial Scaffolding Program

Posted: Updated:

In response to a severe shortage of skilled industrial scaffold builders in Texas and the Gulf Coast region, Texas Southmost College announced the launch of the new Industrial Scaffolding Committee Basic Access program on June 7, 2018.

The Industrial Scaffolding Committee Basic Access program  is a two-week, 80-hour Workforce Training program that will prepare students for the Industrial Scaffolding Committee (ISC) certification.  Students that complete the program will learn the skills and earn the industry credential necessary to enter the workforce at an average salary of $15 per hour.

TSC partnered with WFS Cameron, Partner Industrial, Excel Modular Scaffolding, Brock Service Group, and BrandSafway.  According to a representative from Partner Industrial, Brian Wedemeyer, "The industrial scaffolding industry is a large industry.  We worked with the college to get the equipment, we helped get the instructor, we provide the assessor, and we make sure the students have somewhere to land once they are done with the training."
