Texas Gov. Declares State of Disaster for Hidalgo, Cameron, Willacy Co.

WESLACO – Texas Gov. Greg Abbott has declared a state of disaster for various counties, including some in the Rio Grande Valley.

The announcement comes after severe weather caused extensive flooding damage in Hidalgo, Cameron and Willacy counties, as well as other South Texas areas.

On Wednesday, Judge Ramon Garcia filed a petition to declare a state of emergency for Hidalgo County.
