BROWNSVILLE - A former U.S. Marine held on gun charges for months in Mexican jail is now in the hospital.
The mother of John Hammar Jr. said the 27-year-old is suffering from a bad chest cold and a stomach bug. Hammar and his father stopped in Louisiana, so he could get treated.
