STARR COUNTY - Border Patrol agents confiscated more than half a ton of marijuana after an alleged smuggler plunged his vehicle in to the Rio Grande.
The incident happened near Escobares. Agents tried to stop the driver but he fled into Mexico.
The van was pulled from the river.
