10 residents of 7 Hidalgo Co. cities test positive for coronavirus

EDINBURG – 10 more people in Hidalgo County have tested positive for coronavirus, bringing the total number of people diagnosed with the disease to 38, Hidalgo County Judge Richard F. Cortez said Monday.

The new cases include a 45-year-old male and a 14-year-old male from Mission, a 37-year-old male from San Juan, a 27-year-old male and a 64-year-old female from Pharr, a 32-year-old male and a 77-year-old female from McAllen, a 60-year-old female from Weslaco, a 30-year-old female from Mercedes and a 19-year-old female from Donna.

Investigators are still trying to determine whether the cases are travel-related as well as where the infected patients have been recently in the community.

All have been ordered to self-isolate.
