MCALLEN – The Mexican government is investigating after more than a dozen passengers disappeared from a bus.

The bus was stopped Thursday on its way to the San Fernando-Reynosa Highway, according to Mexico’s agency on immigration.

The agency says 19 people were kidnapped from the bus, leaving the remainder on board.

KRGV’s Christian von Preysing reached out to Mexican law enforcement but did not receive information pertaining to this incident.

The bus company, Transpais, put out a statement that reads:

“They say they are limited on the facts of what happened.  They are asking passengers to continue having faith in their business and asking Mexican law enforcement to get to the bottom of this weekend incident.”
