2 arrested, 1 wanted in illegal street racing investigation
WESLACO – Department of Public Safety troopers arrested two people suspected of taking part in an illegal street racing organization in Cameron County.
According to the release sent by DPS spokesman Lt. Chris Olivarez, an illegal racing investigation was launched in May of 2019.
The investigation revealed “races are being held where numerous vehicles attend to spectate and participants gamble on the outcome of the contests.”
Jenny Marie Davalos, 36, and Cameron Edward Molina, 27, were arrested and charged with racing on highway.
Investigators are still searching for Jose Luis Esquivel – another person suspected of illegal street racing.
