2 charged in Fairbury slaying plead not guilty
FAIRBURY, Neb. (AP) - Two people charged in the slaying of a man at a park near Fairbury in southeast Nebraska have entered pleas.
Jefferson County District Court records say 25-year-old Jerry Gilbert, of Odessa, Texas, pleaded not guilty Monday to second-degree murder and other crimes. Twenty-three-year-old Trey Saathoff, of Diller, pleaded not guilty Thursday to an accessory charge.
They're accused in the July 1 shooting death of a 28-year-old Lincoln man, Marc Jarrell. Authorities say he was shot at Crystal Springs Park just southwest of Fairbury. His body was found July 8.
