22 Officers to Secure Federal Lands in Texas, Arizona
WESLACO – New details were released on the plans to bring more officers to secure federal lands along the border.
U.S. Department of Interior Secretary Ryan Zinke says 22 officers will be sent to Texas and Arizona.
The agency manages several federal lands in the Rio Grande Valley, including the Santa Ana Wildlife Refuge, the Laguna Atascosa Wildlife Refuge and the Palo Alto Battlefield.
It’s unknown if any of the officers will be sent to our area.
