3 Students Arrested for Arson at McAllen High School
MCALLEN - Three students are in custody in connection with a fire at McAllen Memorial High School.
The fire began in the pole vault area on the field of Alfredo "Boxer" Hernandez Stadium.
According to McAllen ISD police, two male students were arrested Monday and another was arrested Tuesday. All three are charged with second-degree felony arson.
If convicted, the students could face up to 20 years in prison as well as a $10,000 fine.
There is still no word if the students or their parents will be responsible to pay back the nearly $80,000 worth of damage.
Police said that will be up to the juvenile court to decide.
