EDINBURG – Five people are behind bars accused of counterfeiting Hidalgo County Sheriff’s commissary fund checks.

The suspects stood before a judge early Friday afternoon.

All of them face two state jail felonies, one for engaging in organized criminal activity and the other for forging a financial instrument.

Hidalgo County Judge Jaime Munoz gave them each a $10,000 bond.
