8-Liners in Willacy County Under Investigation
LYFORD – A new investigation into eight-liner businesses is underway in Willacy County.
New rules in Willacy County require all eight-liners to apply for a permit.
Just over a week ago, a $6,000 burglary took place in one game room and on Thursday, several law enforcement agencies raided another in Lyford.
Willacy County Sheriff Sergeant Detective Andres Maldonado says there’s a high chance of criminal activity with eight-liners around.
"There's a lot of money. There's a lot of different people from different parts, not only from Willacy County, from all over the Valley. So it opens you up to crime, sadly," says Maldonado.
KRGV’s John Paul Barajas has the details.
