SOUTH PADRE ISLAND – It’s one of the busiest times of the year out on South Padre Island, but there’s going to be something different about this year’s spring break.

Expect to see more security and EMS crews on standby.

The additional safety measures are in place as a result of recent mass shootings, according to an event organizer.
