ALAMO – An Alamo firefighter is recovering after battling a house fire Friday afternoon.

He had trouble breathing after entering the home which was filled with smoke.

Investigators say the homeowner tried fighting the fire himself.

Firefighters arrived in time to keep the house from burning down.

The cause of the fire is still unknown.
