MCALLEN -- Several Rio Grande Valley travelers are finally back home, but they're frustrated and still don't have their luggage.

Allegiant Airlines started delaying and rescheduling flights Wednesday due to the extreme heat.

Many people who were supposed to arrive back in McAllen Wednesday at noon, arrived Friday afternoon.

“I basically lived at the airport for two days,” David Soto said. “And I still don't have my luggage. They told me that my luggage went ahead on the original flight. And I’m here and it's nowhere to be found and nobody here to answer any questions.”

Allegiant Airlines told CHANNEL 5 NEWS Wednesday the delays were due to extreme temperatures in McAllen and Las Vegas.

Friday's delay, they said, was also due to logistics related to high temperatures.

“I was just disappointed in the whole experience with them, because the supervisors on the ground over there couldn't even tell us what was going on,” Soto said.
