NEAR ALTON – The Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office needs the public’s help to find a murder suspect.

The search is on for 39-year-old Michael Valle Chavez, according to a press release issued out Thursday afternoon.  He’s accused of murdering 38-year-old Gerardo Alberto Martinez Gomez.

Gomez was found dead with a gunshot wound on Oct. 16 north of FM 2221 on Los Ebanos Road, on the outskirts of Mission.
