WESLACO – Tension in Tamaulipas is building between the government and cartels.

Banners hanging along public roads threatened more violence unless the governments complied.

A photo of one banner, addressed to Mexican leaders, has been circulating online since Friday.

KRGV’s Valerie Gonzalez reached out to former FBI agent, Arturo Fontes, to learn more.

He describes this behavior as normal in this area where cartels are trying to expand their reach.
