WESLACO------The Better Business Bureau is warning the public on schemes this Breast Cancer Awareness month. The B.B.B. advises anyone who is donating to a charity to do some research first.

Dolores Salinas, President of the Better Business Bureau in Weslaco, says doing research can make all the difference.

Salinas says a list of credible charities evaluated by the B.B.B can be found on GIVE.org. She says on the website you can find if a charity meets B.B.B. standards.

"Thirty-five percent or less must be the amount of money absorbed by operation cost. That means 65 percent has to go to the actual cause of the organization," says Salinas.

Salinas says each charity found on that website has been evaluated on 20 standards the B.B.B. has for charities.
