Bill Clinton, Jeb Bush to appear at Maine speaking event
BIDDEFORD, Maine (AP) - Former President Bill Clinton and former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush are headlining an event at a Maine university where they are expected to talk about education.
The event's scheduled for 3 p.m. on Friday at the University of New England's Biddeford campus. The university says it's partnering with the George & Barbara Bush Foundation to bring together the former Democratic president and Republican governor.
University of New England says the event will focus on the 30th anniversary of President George H. W. Bush's 1989 Education Summit. The summit was the third in U.S. history to bring together all 50 state governors.
The university says Harvard University business and government professor Roger Porter will moderate the event. He served as President Bush's assistant for economic and domestic policy from 1989 to 1993.
