MCALLEN – A Rio Grande Valley border patrol agent continues to recover from a recent bee attack.

He was rescued Tuesday by U.S. Custom and Border Protection's Air and Marine Operations.

Officials say a blackhawk was patrolling nearby when they heard radio traffic.

The agent reported trouble breathing after being stung hundreds of times.

He was flown to a nearby hospital and is expected to be okay.
